More than Smoke
This edition of prints focuses on the different uses of cannabis
from recreational to medical benefits.
Each illustration was thought as a particular aspect
of the plant: mythology, growth, surrealism, chemistry, smoke.

MAGU
In chinese mythology Magu is considered
to be the Hemp Goddess.
Magu is said to bring the power of longevity and
has the ability 
of healing the spirits and bodies of mortals.
She also assists in the ushering in of springtime
and the new cycle of vegetation and herbs.

To date, at least 113 cannabinoids have been identified,
of which two usually stand out for being the most studied.

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)
Main psychoactive cannabinoid, responsible
for therapeutic and recreational effects.

CBD (cannabidiol)
Non-psychoactive cannabinoid, with anti-inflammatory,
analgesic and anti-convulsant properties.

HUMO
The sacred smoke of cannabis was believed to have
special properties, such as purifying the body and spirit,
connecting the human with the vital energy of the universe,
expanding consciousness and perception,
calming pain and anxiety.

It was used for rituals and ceremonies.

ELIXIR
Magu was also known for something else,
she was said to be able to brew “the Elixir of Life”.
This celestial elixir associated with universe vital
energy would bring inmortality and vitality.
Cannabis was the main ingredient for the Elixir
as it was considered a sacred plant with
medicinal and spiritual properties.
